Project: Negation and Register Variation in Palenquero: A Corpus-Based Pragmatic Study
I’m a Colombian linguist currently studying a PhD in Computational Linguistics at the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. My field of research is at the intersection of Palenquero Creole language (Colombia) and natural language processing (NLP). I have a background in English Linguistics and Philology as well as ten years of work experience in the book publishing industry.
My project “Negation and Register Variation in Palenquero: A Corpus-Based Pragmatic Study” is part of the CRC project A08 at the Leibniz-Zentrum für Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft (ZAS). Its goal is to understand how changes in register may influence the choice of negation patterns in Palenquero.
