Christine Mooshammer is a professor for phonetics and phonology since 2013. Her research focusses on speech production and phenomena of spoken language such as speech errors, phonetic convergence, and the pronunciation of the gender-neutral suffix. She is specifically interested in how situation and function shapes the phonetic form, e.g. the particle “so” and the realisation of verbal inflections.  Recently she started to investigate how listener rate the phonaesthetics of languages and attitude towards languages they don’t know.
