Souvik Sengupta

Souvik Sengupta is a full-stack linguist with backgrounds in both theoretical and applied linguistics from the University of Calcutta. His broader interests include syntax, pragmatics and corpus linguistics. Among others, he is also interested in how language change and variation influence society.

As a fellow of the MGK, he is associated with A07. His research topic is “Modal Use across Registers in Indian English: Situational-Functional Use and Social Meanings of Modal Verbs and Adverbs”
